Checkify is Changing - Making Online Checklists for Business

Right, where do I start? Sit down, get a coffee as I can really waffle on as this is my first blog post.

Hi, I am Mr Checkify James (unhipcoder) and wanted to tell you my plan and direction for the new version of the software and expansion to a different market. It will still be a online checklist but one more open to all businesses to use as a process management tasklist, not just the SEO market anymore.

Why the change? Might sound crazy but as a business, we use the software to run our lives and business not just for SEO which it was originally designed for. Been using it like this for years and a friend asked how we managed everything one day and we explained just using our software. The reply was “Wow, Sounds great can I use it for my business?” That one comment sparked an idea.

I wanted to update the software and redesign it as the last major version is over 7 years old and in the tech world that’s ancient! I also love new challenges and explode with excitement when researching new technologies. The web app development frameworks now available to make the user experience even better is changing so fast and constantly evolving.

Let me tell you a little about me. I am a full stack developer and have been in the industry for quite a long time without giving away my age. Well, I will tell you it’s been over 20 years involved in full-stack software development. My main focus is Microsoft technologies like .NET, C# but always keen to learn new stuff.

I just love that blank sheet stage, the design and planning and the explosion of ideas before I start creating and building systems and apps.

History Of Checkify

Checkify started 10 years ago to help our existing clients understand how to use SEO to help with rankings. Who we putting hidden white text pages and pages of reciprocal links to irrelevant pages and ignoring or missing the hidden factors.

It was still a new area of learning in the quick changing world of the internet and website indexing where blackhat tricks were very standard and spoiling peoples experience and search results. This was noticed by Google and so the index algorithms started to try and stop these underhanded ways of getting to “Number One in Google

Checkify was designed to identify where changes could be made, what they had missed out on on a technical level and identified broken links etc. This was a very technical application that was mainly focused on people with an understanding of coding. It would scan the website for thousands of potential errors.

It then evolved into a little more user-friendly application based around a checklist and more teaching people why these changes could help their website and business.

Online Checklist for Business

OK, so the humble checklist format works really well in organising anything in life. We all write lists, tick items off and feel the achievement when it’s all complete. We know we have achieved what we have set out to do, and ensure we haven’t missed something.

Think of this but aimed towards businesses, an online checklist for business. Organising business tasks into small steps, knowing who’s doing it, stopping mistakes and knowing everything is getting done how you want it done. Can you see how this business checklist can help businesses on a bigger scale? So simple but such power

Louise Mrs Checkify had gone away for the weekend and after some Sunday morning (2am) research I remember calling her at 6am and waking her. I was so excited it has an official term Business Process Management (BPM) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) or organising Workflow but in /workflow/workflow-management/workflow-management-tool/my eyes, it was a simple business checklist.
